Training Manager - Toomebridge

Job Description
To assist the company, achieve its goals through our people by ensuring that all training needs are assessed, and an excellent standard of training is delivered to our staff in line with requirements from their managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training support for all SDC Trailers.
- The planning and scheduling of training sessions and programmes.
- Working closely with Senior Departments, H&S and HR on training requirement and planning.
- Liaison with departments and relevant managers in the creation of specific training plans and the conducting of regular training reviews.
- Accurately record and report training data, ensure up to date employee training files.
- Creation of work instructions and single point lessons across all departments and locations.
- Creation of work and non-work instruction type training material.
- Ensuring SOP sign off is completed to required levels.
- Alert relevant departments to expiring training/certificates to ensure compliance levels are held e.g (First Aid, Fire Warden and Forklift certificates).
- Delivering and maintaining all types of training materials, ensuring relevant communication is sent to staff. Including updating workshop floor screens.
- Supporting and delivery of any relevant induction training.
- Attending relevant training events, including school and apprenticeship events.
- Sourcing and organisation of external training courses to supplement our internal training programmes.
- Other duties as and when required.
Requirements:
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience of using IT systems to create trackers and reports.
- Strong people and communication skills.
- Understanding of training needs analysis.
- Ability to train technical skills and instil strong culture of safety and quality.
Work Environment:
- Office and Manufacturing environment
Hours of work:
- Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 16:30pm

Robotics Engineer - Antrim

Job Description
SDC is recruiting for a Robotics Engineer to design, integrate, and operate robotic systems for manufacturing processes, with a focus on welding and assembly. The role involves programming and maintaining robotic equipment, training staff, and ensuring production quality and safety standards are met.
Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with robotic welding systems, strong technical skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robotic systems for manufacturing processes including, welding, assembly, material handling.
- Integrate robotic systems with existing manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Identify and select correct parts, jigs, and fixtures for welding operations.
- Fabricate complex metal assemblies from engineering drawings using jigs, fixtures, and manual techniques.
- Operate robotic welding systems, including loading/unloading, tacking, setting up parts, and handling pre-/post-process work.
- Input and adjust welding parameters such as voltage, amperage, wire feed rate, and travel speed.
- Conduct start-up checks.
- Program, test, and debug welding programs to ensure optimal weld and build quality.
- Ensure production output meets required timelines and quality benchmarks.
- Maintenance & Safety
- Carry out operator-level maintenance on welding machines and tooling.
- Monitor and replenish consumables (nozzles, tips, coolant, anti-spatter).
- Report damage or faults with machinery or tooling promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Requirements:
- HNC/HND or equivalent in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience, or Level 3 Engineering qualification with 5 years relevant experience
- Trained on robotic systems
- Experience in an engineering environment.
- Hands on experience operating robotic welding systems
- Experience using assembly jigs, fixtures, and manual welding tools
- Understanding of welding parameters and techniques
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Good computer literacy

Responsible for various administration tasks within our Parts Division in Toomebridge to provide general support to the SDC depots and franchises throughout UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:

Welding Trainer - Toomebridge

The position holder will join the Training team providing support to the Training Manager and Chassis Department. You may not have been a trainer before but may be seeking a development opportunity to share your outstanding welding knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- We are looking for a personable individual who is creative and passionate about training others to deliver the highest standards within the Chassis Department.
- Reporting to the Training Manager regarding all training aspects.
- On the floor training with all new starts.
- Help maintain training records and monitoring training compliance
- Upskilling existing operators within the chassis shop to ensure continual development within the workforce

Design Engineer - Toomebridge

Job Description
As a Design Engineer with SDC Trailers, you will develop ideas for new products and production systems. You'll also improve the performance and efficiency of existing products.
Candidates will ideally be educated to degree standard. However candidates with other qualifications and good experience in the field of engineering design will also be able to achieve design engineer status within SDC.
To succeed in this role you need:
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Strong team player, approachable and demonstrating a flexible style to achieving a project plan.
· Practical “hand’s on” approach
· A sound knowledge of 2&3D CAD software, ideally the Autodesk products
· A sound knowledge of MS office products

Much of your work will be computer-based, working in the engineering office.
You may be required do some travelling to meet sales personnel/customers.
