Trailer Sign Writing Technician - Toomebridge

SDC Trailers is seeking a motivated individual to join our in-house graphics department, where we transform our finished trailers with striking, professional sign-writing.

What You Will Do:

  • Apply high-quality printed graphics to trailers.
  • Use templates and paint to complete the sign-writing process.
  • Collaborate with our skilled team to ensure every trailer looks exceptional.
  • Applying large-format vinyl graphics, wraps and decals without bubbles or wrinkles.
  • Ensuring print colours align with brand or client specifications.

Job Description

We are looking for a Sales Administrator to join our sales team based at SDC Trailers Toomebridge site.

Duties to include:

- Converting quotes to orders upon receipt of signed order

- Preparing and issuing order acknowledgements

- Liaising with engineering and the sales representative to ensure the specification is correct

- Chasing up missing information from the customer/end user/sales rep

- Ensuring all order information is kept up to date

- Liaising with the customer and outside agencies to ensure signwriting layouts are prepared and agreed in a timely manner

- Ensuring the customer is updated with the progress of their trailers, preparing schedules on a weekly basis where necessary

- Assisting with customer visits

- Filing and archiving of order files as needed

- Any other admin duties as required

Manual Blaster Operator - Toomebridge, Evening Shift

Job Description

SDC is looking for a hardworking and reliable Manual Blaster to join our Trailer Repair Centre team. You will play a key role in the refurbishment process, preparing trailers for repainting and repair by ensuring that all surfaces are properly blasted to a high-quality finish.

This position involves operating manual blasting equipment to remove rust, old paint, and other surface materials from trailer components. You’ll work closely with our repair and paint teams to ensure all units meet SDC’s exceptional standards of workmanship and safety.

Evening Shift:

  • Monday – Thursday: 15:00 PM – 23:00 PM
  • Friday: 11:00 AM – 17:00 PM

Training period will be on day shift for the first 4 weeks:

Mon-Thurs 7.00AM- 16.00PM

Friday 07.00am-13.00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare and clean trailer surfaces for painting and refurbishment.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure all surfaces meet quality standards.
  • Maintain blasting equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the repair, paint, and quality assurance teams.
  • Adhere to production schedules and meet daily work targets.
  • Report any equipment faults or maintenance needs to supervisors.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a manual blaster, shot blaster, or similar role in a manufacturing or production environment preferred but not essential.

Design Engineer - Toomebridge

Job Description

As a design engineer, you'll develop ideas for new products and production systems. You'll also improve the performance and efficiency of existing products.

Candidates will ideally be educated to degree standard and have a minimum of 3 years industrial experience. However, candidates with other qualifications and good experience in the field of engineering design will also be able to achieve design engineer status within SDC.

To succeed in this role you need:

  • Gaining knowledge of all relevant trailer legislation and applying to designs
  • Gaining knowledge in all “good practice” standards with respect to trailer safety and design
  • Mentoring junior design engineers
  • Sharing your design experience in design review meetings to ensure the customer gets the best solution
  • Applying Continuous Improvement methodology to your working practices and have an appreciation of Lean Manufacturing principles

Much of your work will be computer-based, working in the engineering office.
