SDC Trailers, the UK and Ireland’s leading semi-trailer manufacturer, has partnered with Northern Regional College to offer six places on our 2025 Welding Apprenticeship Programme.

Are you interested in joining our team of Welder/Fabricators? These positions are open to everyone and no previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided. We simply require applicants to be enthusiastic and interested in the field of Engineering and have an aptitude/flair for mechanical applications.

The 12-week programme allows you to earn while you learn, combining hands-on experience with classroom-based teaching. Upon successful completion, you will be guaranteed a full-time position with SDC Trailers.

Job Description

The position holder will responsible for the provision of administration support to SDC Trailers Production Department in Toomebridge.

Specific duties include booking in received goods on computerised system, liaison with internal departments, production of Excel reports and Stock reconciliations.

Applicants should have 5 GCSE’s or equivalent and be computer literate, particularly in the use of Excel.

Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for a Quality Inspector at our sister company, MDF Engineering in Antrim.

This is a day/ rotating shift position.

The main duty of this position is primarily the inspection of Beams & occasionally the inspection of Chassis.

Other duties may include:

• Inspection of fabricated items
• Calibration
• Design and make jigs
• Continuous improvement activities.
• Good-inwards inspection

Essential Criteria:

• Worked in a welding/ fabrication environment for at least 3 years
• Good communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Show a track record of Continuous Improvement
• Good organisational skills

Desirable Criteria:

• Worked in a QA / QC / Team Leader role for at least 3 years
• Previous experience of working with Beams / Chassis
• PC Literate
• Trained in internal auditing
