FreshLinc Group Limited enhances FLX Logistics trading division with new Freespan trailers for general haulage.


The UK’s leading temperature-controlled operator FreshLinc has added 30 new SDC Freespan Curtainsiders to its general haulage division “FLX” in Carrington, Manchester, taking the group’s fleet to over 400 vehicles and 1,000 trailers nationwide.

Designed to FLX Logistics’ bespoke specification, the new EN 12642 XL curtainsiders come with BPW Eco-Plus axles, Haldex generation 3 braking system, LED Lighting, SDC’s easy access coupling box and a full width rear compression buffer for added protection when reversing into loading bays. Load restraint is provided with deck lashing rings and high security mesh curtains added for maximum load security.

Fleet Engineer, Andy Marchant MSOE MIRTE said “Our latest order of new Curtainsider trailers will allow us to expand our general haulage operation across the UK. We worked closely with SDC to come up with a trailer specification that will really benefit our operation and give our customers peace of mind for the security of their product.”

The new trailers have been delivered to FLX Logistics in Carrington, one of 6 locations the group operates in the UK. In addition to temperature – controlled storage and distribution, the operator provides bespoke order management, consolidation and cross docking facilities.

Marchant added “FLX operate on a National basis from Lands’ End to John O’Groats using vehicles and trailers based at Carrington Manchester, Wyton, Cambridgeshire, Lanark and Evesham and soon to be Normanton, delivering to national retailers, manufacturing facilities, wholesalers, garden centres and farms all planned and managed centrally from our offices in Carrington. Our fleet is all 44 Ton high cube trailers capable of loading up to 3.1 metre products through the side and all trailers are ADR equipped.”
