TIP Trailer Services long-standing partnership with SDC sees over 1,000 new trailers go into production
Leading equipment service provider, TIP Trailer Services has confirmed a substantial order with trailer manufacturer SDC, for the delivery of more than 1,000 new semi-trailers for their UK and Ireland based customers. The order marks the continuation of over 20 years of collaboration between the two companies and is a result of their dedication to providing the best equipment and service on the market.
The trailers will be engineered at SDC’s Toomebridge, Antrim and Mansfield facilities over the next six months and feature a mix of both customer-specified and TIP-specified builds for their rental, lease, and contract hire fleet. TIP offers a wide range of trailer types including Curtainsider, Boxvan, Skeletal, Platform and Drawbar trailers, often finished to the operator’s own specification and livery.
Karl Davies, Commercial Director at TIP explains; “As the leading supplier of equipment and expert services in the logistics sector, TIP has experienced a high demand for new trailers over the last 12 months. In 2020, we took delivery of over 2,000 SDC trailers and we predict that this demand will continue throughout this year. Fleet renewal is also a key part of this investment and, in line with our ‘2025 roadmap to complete digitalisation’ for our entire fleet, we will equip new additions with state-of-the-art telematics systems”.
