SDC Trailers Wins 'Innovation Excellence' Award at 2024 Export & Freight Awards
SDC Trailers has been honoured with the prestigious Innovation Excellence Award at the annual Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards 2024. Sponsored by AMET, the award was presented during a glittering ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in South Belfast. The event, attended by around 600 guests from across the transport and logistics industry, was hosted by BBC’s Mark Simpson.
As the UK and Ireland’s largest semi-trailer manufacturer, SDC Trailers has launched several groundbreaking initiatives aimed at improving production capabilities, environmental responsibility, and safety standards. These projects are part of a significant £8.6 million strategic investment across the company's Toomebridge and Mansfield production facilities.

The Export & Freight Awards, organised by Hillsborough-based 4SM (NI) Ltd, publishers of Export & Freight magazine, have been Ireland’s premier event for recognising excellence in the transport and logistics sector since 2001. The awards celebrate companies that excel in overcoming industry challenges with resilience and perseverance.
In the highly competitive Innovation category, finalists were required to demonstrate how their initiatives improved service quality and operational efficiency. Judges praised SDC Trailers for being “highly innovative and investment-driven by customer demand to deliver efficiencies,” declaring them the clear winner despite fierce competition.
